Our mission is to provide various tools for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

These tools help them discover and develop unique skills to live an independent, quality, equitable, and inclusive life.

Tools For Legacy LLC focuses on empowering the Latino immigrant community with special needs and their families.

This is made possible through education, community resources, and creating connections to access needed services.

Founder and Director:

Jocabed Garcia is an immigrant from Michoacán, Mexico, and mother of two children on the Autism spectrum.

She understands the barriers and complexities involved in navigating various systems to obtain the services our loved ones with disabilities need.

Since 2003, her dedication and expertise have helped hundreds of families better understand their rights and responsibilities related to the different systems in California that support the world of special needs.

Additionally, Ms. Garcia has provided voluntary services for many years, lending a helping hand to this important population.

Later, she continued her work under contract with prestigious agencies that provide support to the community with various special needs in Los Angeles County.

As an active community leader, she continues to promote education and self-advocacy for parents and individuals with differing abilities.

She has been an independent facilitator with the Self-Determination Program from 2019 to the present.
